Adult Visual Arts Summer School will be available to book soon. Here is the plan
Exploring the Landscape
Tuesday 5th August 10-3pm
A day dedicated to exploring the landscape by initially working on preparatory drawings made from the area surrounding our studio in the heart of Ilkley and it's parklands.
We will then develop these drawings using a range of different painting mediums, including acrylic, watercolour, ink and gouache, exploring experimental mark making techniques to bring expression into your work.
Wednesday 13th August 2025
A day of experimental print making using block printing, mono printing, stencils and collage using gathered natural materials as our starting point
We will continue to develop work using the different approaches of layering, collage and drawing to enhance the finished outcomes.
Stitch
Thursday 21st August 10-3pm
A day working with mixed media on a paper or fabric surface. We will begin by manipulating our chosen surface using stain and paint including cyanotype, responding to the material and the marks created.
By building up layers we will be creating a surfave which will then be manipulated using paint, print and stitch to create finished outcomes

“I have attended classes for several years now with Ilkley Art School. Each session varies in terms of materials, models and poses and we are encouraged to try new techniques based on a short introduction to established artists. It’s always interesting, fun and inspiring”
